Andrea joined the cannabis industry after an impressive career as a bond analyst for Moody’s Investors Service. After publishing numerous pieces about the cannabis industry, she started a delivery-only dispensary in 2014 with her father called StashTwist. A case study on MSNBC’s “The Profit”, her delivery service became a model for other women and minorities interested in becoming business owners in the industry.
Andrea has a B.A. from UCLA in Political Science and Sociology, and an MBA with a focus on Company Finance from USC. She has authored and published numerous articles about the cannabis industry over the last ten years, and continues to expand her knowledge base into new states and countries.


ADVOCATE
In 2015, Andrea led the Bay Area chapter of Women Grow, a national for-profit entity whose mission is to serve as a catalyst for women to influence and succeed in cannabis. Women Grow is a dynamic movement that empowers women to succeed through connecting, educating, and inspiring future leaders. The organization is helping to shape an inclusive and thriving cannabis ecosystem focusing on cannabis legalization, entrepreneurship, and career development.
That same year Andrea co-founded Supernova Women, an organization that champions for the education and advancement of individuals most impacted by the War on Drugs. Founded with the mission to foster community empowerment through education, advocacy, and network building, the organization fosters a safe space for and amplifies the messages of their constituents at the local, state, and national level.
In 2023 Andrea founded LEGACY 64, a community based-organization that provides free business education, financial literacy, job placement, and technical assistance to individuals and from underrepresented communities throughout California. The goal is to ensure California’s small business industry is diverse, inclusive, and provides equitable opportunities for capital. The organization is focused on advancing the self-sufficiency and economic independence of entrepreneurs and skilled workers. LEGACY 64 is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization.
TEACHER
Since 2017, Andrea has owned and operated a cannabis consulting service, Tulip & Oak Inc, which specializes in application preparation, licensing, operations, and compliance for Social Equity operators. She has over ten years of financial planning experience for small businesses, as both an operator and a consultant and has built financial models for every sector. She and her team have secured licenses in multiple jurisdictions for operators with budgets as low as $50,000 in start-up funding. Andrea has also developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and Master Manufacturing Protocols for numerous cannabis businesses in almost all sectors of the cannabis industry (with the exception of lab testing).
In 2024, Andrea wrote a book entitled “The Business of California Cannabis: Tools and Strategies to Launch, Operate, Expand, and Exit a Cannabis Business in California Under Proposition 64 ”, a useful tool for business owners. Andrea has been invited to be a guest lecturer in her area of expertise, Finance & Accounting. She has taught:
